Francisco Cândido Xavier is considered the most important and prolific writer of brazilian spiritualist literature, although he denied being the author of all his work. He explained that through psychography (also known as automatic writing) those texts were "dictated" to him. This study addresses the relationship between the spiritual author and the designated narrator in Nosso Lar, where the spirit of André Luiz transmitted his message through a “privileged intercessor”. This authorial duo, according to scholars of the spiritualist phenomenon, create in Brazil one of the most outstanding and profitable book of its genre and, moreover, inserted the mythical and respected mediator between the post-mortem narrator and his narratee, which earned credibility and international notoriety to him.
