This article analyzes the novel El corredor o Las almas que lleva el diablo (2023), by the Mexican writer Alejandro Vázquez Ortiz. Based on theoretical contributions from Hartmut Rosa, Zygmunt Bauman and Giorgio Agamben, it is argued that by recreating a clandestine and deadly race on the routes that connect Monterrey and Saltillo, New Mexico/Coahuila, the text metaphorizes postmodern accelerationism and the forms of mobilizations put underway by capitalism and the way in which these impact the formation of subaltern identities. Among the conclusions, it is proposed that Vázquez's novel inaugurates forms of recreation of the highway not explored until now in Latin American literature, which could constitute a contribution when undertaking the analysis of the literary representation of capitalist mobility regimes on our continent.
Key words: mobility, capitalism, landscape, highway, El corredor o Las almas que lleva el diablo.
