Abstract

 This article explores Feodor Dostoevsky's ethical principles of social Christianity, and reflects on the thoughts and attitudes of his novelistic characters. The intention is to make evident the possibility of reading Dostoevsky beyond the religious canons, in order to understand his idea of true love and its potencial for the transformation of human existence.
