This paper proposes an approach of two fundamental aspects in the work of Pablo Palacio Vida del ahorcado (novela subjetiva): the critical irony and the narrative of vanguard. Through a brief look at the context of the epoch and the concept of modernity, we will see how these two notions overlap and represent a break with the way of writing novels, till then, in Latin America.References
