Western literature has two pillars. According to Harold Bloom, these are the Homeric works and the Jewish Christian traditions, specifically the Bible. Their legacy prevails in the 21st century.
In the present time, social networks influence almost every aspect of daily life. This fact is reflected in three series of mini fictions included in Museo de nimiedades (2022) by José Juan Aboytia. These series take on the themes of the Bible, literature and social networks, respectively. Even though these aren’t the only themes that this volume takes upon, they stand out because of their features as mini fiction studies: briefness, humor, the dis-genre embodied by Violeta Rojo, intertextuality, social criticism and the reading possibilities that command a more active role from the reader.
