Abstract

This paper proposes a reading route in which the ethos of "Las Crónicas de Pepe Faroles" by Josefina Vicens can be defined as "of provocation". This provocation is sieved by humor and, to be noted, it’s seen as the intention to produce specific reactions among the readers, not just looking for the laugh, but also the questioning of what was done in the bullfights that took place on sundays; making the emotion and the comments from the fans “start to boil”. The following pages are based on the theories of Linda Hutcheon and Pere Ballart.
