The thought of Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui
Andean proposals to transform the world by knowing it

The critical thinking that characterizes Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui's position helps to make a treatment of hegemonic modernity and its expressions through two simultaneous reflexive movements: the epistemological and the political. Silvia does not carry out her research work through traditional categories and tools, born in the elitist academy that promotes the political sterilization of reflections thanks to hyper-specialized research, or carried out under the logic of the market of knowledge and which is the prevailing logic in university institutions. The Andean thinker is dedicated to using theoretical instruments whose political basis is already critical in itself, that is, she does not approach colonialism or patriarchy only as issues, but does so with anti-colonialist and anti-patriarchal positions.
