Like any theoretician with a singular and complex proposal, the work of Jean Baudrillard (1929-2007) has been the source of various readings and applications, especially considering the broad nature of the disciplines involved in their conceptualizations.
In this article the main approaches of Baudrillard's work are analyzed, as well as a review of how this work has been read, studied, analyzed and criticized, in order to establish a conceptual basis of the two main readings, trying to point out how all these readings are symptomatic of the same historical and sociological process in which such work was developed throughout the twentieth century.
