Abstract

This research examines the theme of the circus in two important short stories of Peruviam literature: El vuelo de los cóndores and Fénix, which belong to Postmodernism and Neorealism respectively. Through the comparative method, three topics in common will be analysed, such as the circus’s labor problems, main circus characters and the social value of the circus in these two classic tales of Peruvian literature. The results of this analysis will help us understand the poetics of both writes, Abraham Valdelomar and Julio Ramón Ribeyro.

Jesús Humberto Santivañez Valle, Docente

Licenciado en Pedagogía y Humanidades en la Especialidad de Español y Literatura (UNCP). Egresado de la Maestría en Literatura Infantil – Juvenil y Animación a la Lectura en la Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientiae (UCSS). Ejerce la docencia de Aptitudes Comunicativas e Investigación en el Centro de Estudios Preuniversitarios de la UNCP (Cepre-UNCP). En el plano literario ha publicado los libros “Pintura de amor y otros cuentos arcoíris” (Apogeo, 2016) y “El poemario natural” (Bookyachay, 2018). Colabora con artículos críticos sobre literatura infantil y juvenil en el quincenario huancaíno “30 minutos” editado por Save the Children. Las líneas de investigación que desarrolla se relacionan con la cuentística infantil y juvenil peruana. En 2019 ha participado en el III Congreso Internacional Antonio Cornejo Polar “Migración, fronteras y desplazamientos en las literaturas latinoamericanas” (CELACP) con la ponencia “Sujeto migrante y explotación laboral infantil en El retoño de Julián Huanay”. El artículo “Equilibrio de contrastes en la narrativa fantástica de El hipocampo de oro de Abraham Valdelomar” fue publicado en 2019 en la revista científica “Horizonte de la Ciencia” editada por la Unidad de Posgrado de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad Nacional del Centro del Perú.
