Abstract: The kiss is not a very common subject in Quevedo’s love poetry, at least in comparison with its Italian models. When it appears, it is generally an apparent or imaginary kiss, and only takes place in the lover’s imagination. This article classifies and comments philologically the kiss poems in the Musa Erato, fourth muse in El Parnaso español, which collects most of Quevedo’s love poetry.
Key words: Quevedo, kiss, phantom, love, imagination
