Territories and nature through the archive’s transmutation

Considering two of the writer and visual artist Verónica Gerber’s oeuvres (Otro día... poemas sintéticos and the project Máquina distópica), this essay investigates modes of rewriting territory and nature through operations of copying, deformation as well as deviation of documental and artistical archives. Together with the rewriting of oeuvres from Juan José Tablada and Amparo Dávila as well as assumptions of Manuel Felguérez ́s work and different tenor of documents, Gerber complexifies categories of territories, ecosystems and nature down the light of the effects of the old distinction between natural history and human history collapse. Far away from a melancholically practice of the archive, this proposal reinstalls a ludic register, as well as it relocates the artistic practice as a destabilization process of formats and constituted definitions.References
