Recovering the Lost Praxis.Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez’s Philosophy of Praxis today: context, history and philosophical problem

The present article discusses the Philosophy of praxis, from Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez, in its historical, political and social context, considering the history and transformation of the text itself, since it is estimated as one of the most important philosophical books of the 20th century. At the same time, the article analyzes some of the first academic thesis, written on this book, which were elaborated by Latin American authors at universities of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), even before this book was established as a possible theme for thesis in Mexican universities. Finally, some of its philosophical contributions are confronted with other 20th century specialists in the theme of the praxis, as Alfred Schmidt, probably the main philosophical heir of the Critical Theory of Society, of the Frankfurt School (if we consider that Jürgen Habermas broke with some of the central concepts of that group, as it is precisely the one of praxis).References
